Locks Heath - Shopping

A list of local shops, by category, can also be found under Local Companies category. There are groups of shops at the Lockswood Centre, Park Gate, Dimmocks Corner, and Warsash. The largest group is at the Lockswood Centre. Shops here include the Co-op (food store), Iceland (frozen food), a Post Office, newsagent, travel agent, florists, dry cleaners, take away restaurants, video hire, chemist, carpets, hardware, building societies, and estate agents. There is also a petrol station, doctors surgery, old peoples centre, young peoples centre (Genesis), a pub (Lock, Stock, and Barrel), a library, and community buildings. On Saturdays, there is normally a jumble sale, or similar, in the community building. There is plenty of free parking. Lockswood Centre

Immediately to the north and west of the shopping centre is a small wooded area, and a childrens play park.

Park Gate is home to a cycle shop, wine store, bakery, florists, card shop, newsagents, hardware store, mobile phone store, hairdressers, TV and audio, petrol stations, banks and building societies. There is a small free car park, which can get very busy on Saturday mornings.

Dymocks Corner is a small group of shops which include collectables, hire tools, newsagents, baby goods, and a fruit and vegetable shop. There is a sub post office in the newsagents (closed on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons).

Warsash has shops in two main groups. One is along Warsash Road, near the Reformed church. These shops include a bakers, butchers, and designer fashion shop. The other group is around the centre of Warsash and include newsagent, general store, chemist, restaurant, and an estate agent. The old clock tower is a prominent feature in the centre of Warsash.

About 7 miles west, along the M27, is the Hedge End shopping complex, with a very large Sainsbury and Marks and Spencer store, PC World, Home World, Home Base, DFS, Great Mills, caprpet and furniture stores, and a Macdonalds fast food restaurant.
